He believes it is cruel and unusual punishment to make dogs with no undercoat walk while the sky drips down. It takes some coaxing to convince him that he will not melt during bathroom breaks when it is raining. After a week or two, he grudgingly becomes accustomed.
It takes twice as long to get out of the house on rainy days due to everyone getting outfitted. Real Oregonians do not use umbrellas. So everyone has tons of rain gear. Case in point: Mr. N owns four rain coats. I still haven't found the perfect coat though. Suggestions?

On that note, he is skinny again. He ate too fast or something and wasn't feeling well so after a day of being on bland food, lost close to half a pound. He is at a perfect weight now but if he loses any more, I'm worried he won't have any reserves to fall back on if he gets sick.
So glad you guys walk rain or shine. Yesterday it was cloudy n drizzling here and no one was at the park. It seems that dog owners are afraid to get "wet" Love your jacket. Happy FitDog Friday. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteThanks. It's a tiny bit small for him (length-wise) but I just couldn't resist the puppy faces.
DeleteLove that comment "Real Oregonians don't use umbrellas"...
ReplyDeleteGood for you Mr. N. a walk a day rain or shine is our motto too - of course it doesn't rain much here in SoCal, but we still walk everyday!
That's what I was told when I moved here. Only tourists use umbrellas!
DeleteRocco doesn't seem to mind the rain much but I've also thought about getting a raincoat for him. When he gets wet he gets, VERY wet! Love that Mr. N walks rain or shine. If it's really bad outside, we play fetch down our longest hallway!
ReplyDeleteEven if they don't mind rain, a raincoat makes it easier for cleanup afterwards. We don't have a yard so we always play fetch in the hallway!
DeleteWe have snow in Utah this morning...but it doesn't stop us from getting out - need the exercise and the brisk air is great!
ReplyDeleteLove the brisk fall air. We hardly ever get snow here but when we do walk in snow, he gets so much snow on his paws. I think we're going to try boots this year.
DeleteSorry Mr. N. had tummy troubles...Walking in the rain is tough here since we don't usually get "rain' but more like torrential downpour...But we do our best
ReplyDeleteThanks. We had a flood warning last weekend and Mr. N took one look at the rain and was like you're crazy, I'm not going out in this. I don't blame him!
DeleteWe love to walk rain or shine and are glad you do too! Luna doesn't like the rain, but she loves drying off.
ReplyDeleteMr. N dries his own face on any sort of fabric material. It's so funny to watch.
DeleteStay well Mr N!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! He's better, I think he'll eat "real food" tomorrow.
DeleteRainy days are hard for me. I get WBS (Wet Belly Syndrome) and I wish I could just burrow. But I agree, rain or shine, those walkies are mine :)
