This Does Not Compute

Mr. N loves meeting new people and getting attention. He tried so hard to make friends with a visitor and pulled out all the stops. Bringing a toy over, flopping over for a belly rub, looking at her pleadingly with puppy eyes and tongue sticking out. Nothing worked and she gingerly petted him once or twice (she is not afraid of dogs, just not an animal person). Mr. N was dumbfounded that there was someone who didn't want to pet him. Everyone wants to pet him!

  3. I always feel sad for the people that don't like dogs (or animals in general). Their lives lack something so special.

  5. That must've been so confusing for Mr N! Don't worry, cutie, I would pet you endlessly!

  6. I can see how that would throw you, Mr. N. "Not an animal person" is crazy-talk. Part of my job at Read to a Pet Night is to help kids who are afraid of dogs to learn how to approach a dog and pet him/her. It's tough to understand, but I do my best.

    1. Oh Mr. N has actually gotten kids who were afraid to pet him. And even some Muslim kids to pet him. So he was very confused.

  7. What! With that adorable face, you'd have to drag me away. The mind boggles how someone wouldn't fall for that cutie.

  8. LOL, we know how you feel! One of our friends has a girlfriend who clearly doesn't like dogs. She doesn't want to Pet them at all or acknowledge them in any way. At least you got a pat or two for your efforts, Mr N!

    1. When I was younger, I wasn't a huge dog fan but the dogs I met were very rowdy lol. Mr. N generally is pretty delicate about demanding attention. Insistent but delicate.

  12. Who could resist that sweet face? Animals seem to know when someone needs to be converted to a pet lover...sounds like you did all you could, Mr. N!

  16. LOL too funny- Kilo would try to eat them then if they played hard to get, he'd try to win them over and be on their lap.

  18. Sounds like you were dumbfounded as well. My whole family loves animals, except for one sister. She wants nothing to do with them. I don't understand. Say hi to precious Mr. N for me!

    1. Haha. I was. Even people who don't like dogs usually like him! He says hi back.

  19. Poor Mr N, he is so adorable I know mom would find him irresistible, only if I wasn't there as she isn't allowed to give other dogs attention in front of me. I don't like strangers but if they give me treats I'll take it and remember them the next time. Love Dolly

    1. Mr. N is not thrilled about it but he allows it. He was very puzzled when I had toddlers in my lap and he couldn't sit there.

  23. It's so strange when that happens. Makes me think the human might be from another planet.....

  24. That behaviour is so like my cat Charlie, he'll happily expose his belly to strangers and demand attention...most of the time it works!

  25. Aw, rats. I'll bet, if you had more time, you would have won her over.
