I'm working on a tricks video for Onyxx to post on Petfinder to boost his adoptability. I still need to add some clips of him playing dead and jumping through a hoop. Thoughts? Or suggestions for other easy tricks to add?

The majority of children who meet Mr. N have no idea whatsoever how to greet dogs properly. They run up to him yelling "puppy" ...
He's so adorable, can't believe your having a hard time finding his forever home...
ReplyDeleteI know! He's had very little interest though. And most of the people who have expressed interest have FAT dogs. Onyxx would gain weight so easily if people let him. He wants to eat all the things. And so bad for him. He has a bad knee.
DeleteThanks so much for supporting the new blog hop. Onyx sure is a cute little guy, I will have my fingers crossed that he finds his forever home.
ReplyDeleteDo you think you can teach him to say his prayers? I always think that looks so cute. :-)
I could but that might take a while. It's not an easy trick!
DeleteWhat a cutie. I wish I had room for another dog, I would swoop him up.
ReplyDeleteNormally when people say that to me, I'm like he's a five pound Chihuahua! How much space could he take up? But I think you have a legit case.
DeleteOMG I love him! He's cute in pictures, but videos are an excellent addition because he's got so much personality in them!
ReplyDeleteMaybe he could jump on cue? Just up in the air, or up on something, or over something? Or crawl under something ("limbo"?)?
He can jump over things on command now. Like through a hoop or over my leg. He has a bad knee so I try not to overtax him with too many jumping tricks. I bet he could learn how to crawl though. He loves crawling under the couch.
DeleteHi Y'all!
ReplyDeleteOh my, can't let my Human see this one! I don't want a little brother!
Hope he finds a happy forever home soon! Does he walk nicely at heel on a leash? Does he do any agility stuff? Looks like he could easily learn to do Rally Obedience.
Y'all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
He walks nicely on a loose leash. I haven't taught him to heel although if need be, I probably could. I don't think agility would be good for him. He has a bad knee. He could probably learn how to do rally. Although I don't think he really wants to do sports. He's not like Mr. N who really enjoys learning and being active. He's perfectly happy eating, sleeping and being petted. He would be very happy with a retired person who would pet him a lot and take him for strolls around the block.
DeleteHe's so stinkin' cute. Where do you live? Maybe he wants to live in Tulsa. Www.dogtreatweb.com
ReplyDeleteWe're in Oregon. He probably would like Tulsa. He's not a fan of rain. They usually want local adopters though. *sighs. Plus knowing him, he would break into your stash of Jones treats...
DeleteOMG Onyxx is SO adorable, I'd adopt him as is - no tricks needed! One of the easiest tricks we've taught Daisy is to "walk" (more like a hop sometimes) on her hind legs. I just hold a treat up high enough for her to stand on her hind legs, then lead her with the treat repeating "walk". She picked it up immediately, and I'm sure Onyxx would too. :)
ReplyDeleteThat Onyx is just adorable. I can't believe he hasn't been adopted yet. Those tricks are too cute and he is so excited to do them. Thanks so much for joining Barks and Bytes and sharing that video. :)
