  9. How incredibly picturesque! I'm so jealous! We don't have that scenery anywhere near the desert so I love seeing photos of it!

  14. So we were there last year... kind of. We got trail directions from locals, had a nice hike, followed all of the signs, got a tad confused at the end when we walked down the hill, and found a viewpoint where everyone was standing around. THAT is not what we saw. We saw a river with a cascading rapid. I was pretty disappointed - "THIS is what everyone is raving about?" - and we went home. Since then, I have seen other people's photos of the falls and confirmed that is DEFINITELY not what we were looking at. I am not sure where we went wrong. Anyway, we'll be back in Bend this weekend and will probably give it another try.

    1. Lol! We got lost on the way there too because there was construction so we had to go to a different trail. I really liked Bend while we were there. A restaurant called Spork was really good.

  16. That's beautiful! It looks like you managed to avoid the smoky, hazy air problems that have plagued us recently. It's kept my dogs inside much more than they would like. I'm hoping we're all done with fires now, so we can go on some hikes, too!

    1. This is actually a photo from earlier this year. We had some problems with smoke a few weeks ago but it's not bad in the city proper right now.
