Once upon a time, there was a canine knight who suffered from a terrible curse. The villainous flea and his brethren took great delight in biting his tender skin and sucking his blood without cease. No matter what Sir N tried and wherever he went, his torment never ended. He consulted the wise dogs of his village who counseled him to seek a magical elixir known as Virbac® Sentinel® Spectrum®.

With a hopeful heart, the brave knight departed and trotted North for many a day. He crossed high mountains and wide rivers and went through dense forests. Eventually, he came upon the magical tree that hid the elixir.
After many years of torment and agony, could it be? Was a cure really in sight? Sir N licked his lips in anticipation as he gazed upon the elixir.
He swallowed the beef and bacon flavored elixir and his foe was no more. Sir N immediately pounced upon the flea and gave him a good thrashing in the name of dogkind. The flea's dying squeaks were heard throughout all of the canine kingdom. And Sir N lived happily ever after.
Note the magical elixir must be taken monthly and is quite palatable. It protects against the following foes: Heartworm, Fleas, Hookworm, Roundworm, Tapeworm, and Whipworm.
Sir N would like to advise his canine friends that even if you only see one flea foe, there can be hundreds more of their children lurking and waiting to hatch in the environment. They can survive up to a year before finding a host. Only five percent of fleas are adults and the remainder are eggs and immature fleas biding their time.
It doesn't matter if you are sleeping outdoors and going on quests or living indoors in a castle, dogs are susceptible to this itchy curse. If your dog would like to save the effort of making a long and arduous quest, you should consult the wise dogs (veterinarians) of your village so you can get a blood test and a prescription for the elixir (parasiticide).
An even more deadly enemy is the horrible heartworm. Nearly 300,000 dogs in the US contract heartworms each year from infected mosquitoes. Dogs that are inflicted show lack of energy, weight loss, and breathing problems. Without treatment, dogs can have damaged hearts and lungs and even die. Annual screenings with a simple blood test can help detect heartworm disease.
There are many other enemies just waiting to invade. Intestinal parasites (hookworms, whipworms, roundworms, and tapeworms) can make dogs very ill.
Join Sir N on his quest to eradicate these pests and talk to your wise dogs today.

We've used regular Sentinel for years! Great post!
ReplyDeleteLove Sir N's story! Fleas are certainly a pain for everyone. I am really glad that fleas do not thrive where we live.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yeah, unfortunately we have a pretty mild climate so bugs can be a thing year round.
DeleteFleas are awful and Zoe is allergic. Right now we're using Advantage but I am wanting to switch to something else.
ReplyDeleteWonderful review Mr.N, hope this helps your flea problem!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Spencer! He's allergic to fleas so a preventative is a must.
DeleteLove Sentinel, we used it last year and I most probably will go back to it this year
ReplyDeleteWhat an epic journey. Glad it had a happy ending! I will tell Sir N's story to my pup tonight for his bedtime story.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember what brand my dogs are on for heartworm prevention right now but I will keep Sentinel in mind for the future. Luckily we don't have a ton of mosquitoes in Arizona but I take no chances!
ReplyDeleteI keep thinking, though - what if instead of lacing our dogs with chemicals we took care of the parasite problem? Such as "cured/vaccinated" the mosquitoes and ticks so they don't spread any diseases?
ReplyDeletelooks like a great product to help with fleas ticks and heart-worms.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a sound product to treat these nasties. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteVery creative post! I think you knocked this one right out of the ballpark. Great job!
ReplyDeleteHehe great post! We love sentinel spectrum!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet story - I love that the magical tree produced his flea medication! And N and his sweet toy -- that first pic is adorable. Well guess where I was today- the vet as Sherm has flea allergy dermatitis so this post was super timely. He's on an anti-itch med as a result. Clearly I should have had him on Sentinel so thanks for the recommendation.
ReplyDeleteSir N, you are by far the most wise, as well as tenacious Terrior in all the land! Thank you for educating us about this magical elixir!
ReplyDeleteLove & biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
Very informative post! Love the "wise dogs" name for veterinarians. Sir N is a perfect fairytale star. ♥
ReplyDeleteI've never read about the villainous fleas and parasites in such an interesting way! Sentinel Spectrum sounds like a pretty good option, I just wished it eliminated ticks as well.
ReplyDeleteTake that fleas! He is way too cute - even when discussing such a serious topic.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great way to share good info. Love Sir N. Hate those villains. I have to take K Pug to vet and get heartworm pills so will check this out.
ReplyDeleteLoved this review. Let us know how this works over the long term.
ReplyDeleteLove the review! That was amazing and I love the magic elixir! Fleas are definitely a force to be reckoned with!!!!
ReplyDeleteSir N is so handsome and brave! I love the way you approached this review. :) This sounds like a great product. Parasites are a terrible foe. It is crazy that so many dogs die from heartworms each year!

Great info! And I have one of those "bite the flea" squeaky toys. And by me, I mean me! I don't let the boys play with it because I love it so much.
ReplyDeletePretty cool, I haven't seen an edible flea treatment. It seems much better than the drops, and it tastes like bacon?? We have to try this!
ReplyDeleteOur worst problem here is ticks, and they are REALLY tough to defeat! We haven't found anything yet that works to our satisfaction.
ReplyDeleteJan, Wag 'n Woof Pets
What a terrific post and pictures!
ReplyDeleteWhat a creative story sharing the benefits of prevention. Bravo Mr. N Bravo
ReplyDeleteMom Kim here - I don't get around to as many blogs as I would like but so glad I stopped by here this time. We have more problems with mosquitoes than fleas here aand have used Heartgard in the past but I know it is good to always switch things up in case any immunity is built up. This is something I will check in to. Great post - loved reading of Mr. N's quest.
ReplyDeleteOh I have never used this before. Will investigate further
