FitDog Friday #45 - When the Grass is Taller than Your Dog

Mr. N normally doesn't traipse into the tall grasses off the path but we went to go find Sage so he followed us in. He has to bunny hop his way through.

This is one of the reasons we train for good recall. It's very easy for Mr. N to get "lost" in the field. If he wanted to wander off, I don't know how we would ever find him.

Mr. N isn't intimidated by grass no matter how tall and he's not intimidated by Sage either. Quite the contrary!

  1. Bailie just started running tracks in 7ft tall grass and absolutely loves it. Tall grass is a blast at any size but off lead, Mom gets nervous when she can't see us, so we can only do that in a fenced area. Happy FitDog Friday!

  2. That bunny hop walk through the tall grass is really good exercise for him! Keep that bright collar on him!

  3. I love seeing pictures of Mr. N with Sage! That is adorable. Barley doesn't like tall grass most of the time. She starts nipping at it and gets tired of it pretty quickly. I love the thought of Mr. N bunny hopping through it!

    1. We were saying that Mr. N runs like a bunny and Sage runs through the grass like a deer or gazelle.

  4. Mr N!! That grass is perfect camouflage! I could hardly see you!! :D Have you been to the 1,000 acre forest in Troutdale? That was one of Zoe and Phoenix's favorite places! They used to hide in the tall grass, too!

    1. Yes, we have tons of foxtails here too. Mr. N gets brushed out everyday. Have you seen that hood they have for dogs to combat foxtail?

  8. Being the same color of the grasses doesn't help either! I love watching the bunny hop through tall grass! Rocco does that too.

  9. Your bunny hops through the tall grass must be ADORABLE! I really like to roll around in tall grasses. Makes for good back scratching.
