The Changing of the Season and Fall Walks

Fall has rapidly swooped in and the rainy deluge has begun here in Portland. Mr. N enjoys the crisp weather and playing in the leaves but he is a soggy wet mess a lot of walks. His paws are getting washed every time he goes for a walk. I'd like to try to squeeze in a couple more hikes before the year is over.

He recently acquired a tiny skateboard in a raffle so I've started training him how to skateboard. So far he will get on the skateboard (two paws and four paws) and stay on it while I move it. We may also work on either a rebound or a handstand as our indoor project this year.

Any fall activities planned with your dogs?

  1. We love the cooler temps, all the fallen leaves with their smells and are looking forward to fun in the cold and snow.

  2. Hi Y'all!

Ah, now I see the benefit of my Chessie coat...no rain coat needed! and short hair on legs and paws mean a quick wipe and I'm dry!

    Y'all come on by!

P.S. We go back to the mild low country when the weather gets too cold up here...so winter means "more of the same" in the way of activities.

  7. The skateboard sounds fun! I can picture Mr. N doing that. Our fall has been very strange here...it's been quite warm and dry this week, and honestly, we miss the cooler weather. It's raining a bit today and hopefully will be back to normal tomorrow. Because of that, we haven't really thought much about new activities yet!

  8. You look so cute Mr N. It's rainy here too which Kilo is not keen on. He is learning to skateboard too. He started on a really small one, but it actually seems easier on a neighbour's regular. We just do it very flat with me still holding his leash as I am so nervous about him falling or the board bopping him. We will go back to PawsWay for indoor baby agility - hopefully he'll get over his anxiety a little and enjoy it. XS
